My mother, Ann Thornton ( Nee Gooderham), born 1922-1996 was eldest daughter to Alex Gooderham ( item 14.13 ) she had 2 sisters, Jane and Virginia.  My grandmother called Rachel Gooderham lived in Toronto and died some time ago.My mother died 9 years ago in England, her sister Jane Wadman died some 5-6 yrs ago, She had the boat house up on chimo, just around the corner from camp chimo, which I visited in 1971 ?? Now owned by her son John Wadman.  Virginia lives in Oakville and has an island up on Temagami not too far from Chimo, I guess you know her and all her clan!!

Ann Gooderham ( mother) married my father, Frank Thornton in Toronto in 1945,  ( born in 1920 in Leeds, now in a naval nursing home in Norfolk) he was in the RN, trained as a pilot, fixed wing and choppers. We use to live in canada up till 1952/53 when he came back to the UK. My mother had 3 children, David Thornton, 1946, Peter 1947 and a sister Jennifer 1952.  I married in 1972 to Diane Murch, from Canterbury Kent, and lived in France for 3 yrs. we have 3 boys. Andrew 1975, Senior Captain in the British Army, just got engaged to a Clair Busby, a farmer in Staffordshire. Jeremy 1978, not married, living with his girl friend in London, has an IT consultancy co, and Timothy 1985, he is in his first year at the University of Southampton, meant to be studying geography, but think its girls and beer.

I live in Sevenoaks, Kent.  16 Wildernesse Mount, Sevenoaks, Kent TN13 3SQ, and have worked in the Oil industry most of my life as a sub sea engineer, although worked in Canada in the early 70’s   for a firm of Architects, Pentland, Baker, Poulson and Noble on Charles st.Toronto.  Qualified as a diver at the U of T, Hart House when I lived over there. I then gave up architecture and joined a French diving company, living in Marseille.
